Physics is based on understanding nature and its laws. From this point of view, it is possible to find traces of physics in every moment of human history. Science and scientific perspective, which came to life as a result of human curiosity, is proud of doing the most important works at the point where humanity has reached today, as a result of the great struggles experienced in every stage of its development.
Being a physicist, understanding nature, and being able to evaluate problems from a versatile perspective will make you noticeable in society. As a result of the good education you will receive in your department, you will take your place in society as an individual who researches, produces projects and is open to development.
You can produce projects during your studentship and have the opportunity to implement them. All you have to do is ask a lot of questions. Know that science is a work of human curiosity.
Within our department, studies are carried out in the fields of Atomic and Molecular Physics, General Physics, Solid State Physics, Mathematical Physics, High Energy and Plasma Physics. If you are more interested in one of these fields and want to improve yourself in that specific field, you can reach your goal by taking advantage of our advanced laboratory facilities under the guidance of our competent academic staff.
Department of Physics alumni can start their academic life by completing a graduate and doctorate, or they can also work as teachers in various educational institutions after graduation. On the other hand, the alumni can find employment opportunities in many public and private sectors such as the Turkish Atomic Energy Agency, Turkish Scientific and Technical Research Council, State Statistical Institute, Telecom, Turkish Electricity Distribution Corporation, Nuclear Research Center, and radiation oncology units of hospitals.
The Department of Physics has the capacity to conduct high-level undergraduate and graduate (master's and doctorate) education-training, and scientific research with its staff consisting of 20 Professors, 7 Associate Professor Doctors, 8 Assistant Professor Doctors, 1 Instr. Instr. Dr., 2 Res. Asst. Dr., 2 Instr. Instr., 4 Res. Asst.
